WHO WE ARE

Dr. Edward H. Pearce, was a guru in Canadian gift planning. He passed away suddenly in October 2005. As Principal of EH Pearce and Associates, he assisted a myriad of organizations crossing all sectors to meet and exceed their goals. He challenged individuals and their organizations to dare to dream… and then systematically showed them how to realize their dreams. Ed Pearce recognized the uniqueness of every client, and provided the finest in customized counsel. He was the embodiment of honesty, ethics and professionalism.

As Director of Development, Planned Giving at Queen’s University, he built the best Planned Giving Program in the country. Starting with a handful of file cards in a shoebox, he built ‘The Tomorrow Fund’ to its current level – in excess of $100 million. He was a founding board member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP), a chair of the Canadian Association on Charitable Gifts (CACG) and he served on a host of professional boards and committees.

Ed Pearce was a contributing editor to sector publications across Canada and the USA. He authored three books on planned giving with his long time colleague and friend Sherry Clodman, CFRE. Committed to mentoring and fundraising education, Ed transferred his knowledge through countless presentations and seminars, and taught planned giving online at Georgian and Fanshawe Colleges.

In every sense of the word, Ed Pearce was ‘The Gold Standard’ and he defined the profession. A soft spoken and modest man, he had little to be modest about!  Just before his untimely death, it was fitting that Ed Pearce received the coveted “Friend of CAGP” National Award for his outstanding contribution to the planned giving profession.

EH Pearce Consultants is privileged to carry on his name, his good work, and his distinguished legacy.
